Independence
Technology, a Johnson & Johnson Company
One in five Americans has a disability, yet technology has not kept
up with the increasing needs of people with disabilities, until
now. The Agency is currently handling the multi-year rollout of
the INDEPENDENCE® iBOT™ 3000 Mobility System, a gyro-balanced
personal mobility system from Independence Technology, a Johnson
& Johnson Company. This wheelchair-like device can ascend and
descend a flight of stairs, and rise up on two wheels to hold the
user at eye level. Our iBOT™ coverage with inventor Dean Kamen
has been carried on DATELINE NBC, THE TODAY SHOW, CNN, CBS Morning,
Larry King Live and a host of other network news and talk shows.
By year-end 2003, there were 651 print articles, 1,112 web-based
stories and 230 airings of our two minute video news release, reaching
21,918,960 viewers, and millions upon millions more print readers.
McNeil
Consumer Products, the Arthritis Foundation and Johnson & Johnson
In the largest public/private healthcare initiative ever undertaken
between a pharmaceutical house and a nationally recognized healthcare
association, we were asked to provide the strategic launch for Arthritis
Foundation™ Pain Relievers for client McNeil Consumer Products
Company, the Tylenol people; the Atlanta-based Arthritis Foundation;
and McNeil parent company Johnson & Johnson. Adding special
“Do-Re-Mi” notes was our public relations representative,
actress Julie Andrews, undertaking her first spokesperson assignment.
Home
Wound Care Products Group of Johnson & Johnson
One of our longest running hits was with the Home
Wound Care Products Group of Johnson & Johnson. From doing all
PR for the company’s venerable Band Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages,
to participating in writing the company’s definitive first
aid guide, we helped make America take better care of its hurts,
scrapes and cuts. We even got to handle the kid’s line of
products, First Aid Kits, and the Athleticare Line – working
with the United States Olympic Training Village physicians and staff.
Tip of the day: Wounds do heal faster and better when covered!
